Style Story: Weekend of Living Dangerously
We never thought we would see the day, but it seems that Mads has dressed down for this episode…well, in her own way. She starts off her outfit in true Mads form with a super sexy bandage dress and heels but then she accessorizes it in a way that was totally unexpected. She adds a hooded tee shirt and leather jacket and transforms her evening look into a perfect daytime ensemble. It just goes to show that a simple change in accessories can have major impact.
Knee-high socks are quickly becoming one of our favorite leg accessories. We love the look with all kinds of boots and shoes… tall boots, booties, and loafers all look fab with the addition of knee-high socks.
Mads
wears these perfectly with her high-waisted shorts and cropped jacket. If you are a fashion-forward fashionista, this is a great inexpensive trend to try if you’re up for something new.
Mads certainly has established her style as ultra-feminine, and we are huge fans. But this week, she adds a classic military inspired coat to the mix, which shows us a different side of her style sensibility. The coat has great structure and classic buttons and even though this look is more masculine than she normally wears, the coat is a nice complement to her soft style.
The halls of Arroyo High School are a fashion runway… or at least that is the way Mads sees it. This week, she stuns in a gorgeous white lace skirt and a chic black top, making her look elegant beyond her years. Even though we might not do the white lace skirt for sitting through a day of classes like the daring Mads, we do love this white lace trend! As the weather heats up, there will be tons of it in the stores, and it is one of our favorite looks for the summer. If you want to give white lace a try, pair it with solid colors like Mads’ black blouse for an easy and elegant daytime or nighttime look.
Daytime events can be just as much fun to dress for as formal nighttime soirées. The trick is to find the right balance and not look overdone. Mads has the right idea this week. She keeps her makeup light, her dress is airy and fresh and she looks totally appropriate for the luncheon.
Mads’ Wide Belt
It has always been pretty obvious that Mads doesn’t just roll out of bed and come to school in her sweats, but this week her outfit for school is AMAZE! We love the wide belt paired with the skirt and super fancy top. Using a wide belt is a great way to really create and cinch your waist.
